The Senate HHS Committee decided to return HB 302 to the rules committee, effectively defeating the bill. This bill will not move any further forward.
We did it! We successfully defeated HB 92! This bill would have prohibited doctors from treating transgender children with evidence-based care. The House Health and Human Services Committee sent the bill back to Rules where it will remain locked for the rest of the session. Thank you to all of the committee members for protecting transgender youth today. Also, thank you for calling, texting and emailing your lawmakers. You helped us turn the tide. This is a great victory for transgender children!
History is on our side. Today we had a loss. HB 302 moved off of the House floor. This is one battle of many yet to come. The bill now moves to the Senate, and so do we. Today we stand in solidarity with our transgender siblings. We will never stop fighting for you!
