We are thrilled to share the immense success of our 2023 Allies Gala. Allies is an evening celebrating unity, resilience, and the ongoing pursuit of equality for Utah’s LGBTQ+ community. Each year, the event serves as a chance to bring together a diverse group of passionate advocates, allies, and community leaders who have played a pivotal role in advancing Equality Utah’s mission. This year, we celebrated Nikki Boyer, a foundational member of the queer community in Salt Lake City, and the Sundance Institute for their tremendous allyship.
We were privileged to enjoy an electrifying performance by the iconic Indigo Girls, who headlined the Gala and brought incredible energy to the evening. We also got to enjoy a performance by Utah’s own Claybourne Elder and celebrity appearances from Dustin Lance Black and Tom Daley. The Allies Gala continues to show us that while tremendous work is still ahead of us, we are reminded that the journey toward an equitable Utah is empowering and joyous. Together as a community, we stand united for a future where equality and acceptance know no bounds.
