Our Mission

To secure equal rights and protections for LGBT Utahns and their families.

Equality Utah Foundation, an IRS 501 c (3) organization, educates the LGBT community and the public-at-large about issues impacting the LGBT community and our allies, trains them to respond and to work proactively for LGBT equality. Equality Utah Foundation organizes advocacy trainings, forums and topical briefings in partnership with individuals and statewide organizations.

Equality Utah, an IRS 501 c (4) organization, is the state’s largest LGBT civil rights organization. Equality Utah leads efforts for LGBT civil rights at the state and local levels through a range of strategies including lobbying legislators and other elected and appointed officials; sponsoring bills and opposing negative legislation; building coalitions; and empowering individuals and other organizations to engage in the legislative process.

Equality Utah Political Action Committee, an IRS 527 organization, endorses candidates and supports their campaigns with volunteer efforts and financial contributions. Through the efforts of Equality Utah PAC, we are working to expand the number of fair-minded elected officials in state and local government.
